- (Uploaded by Plazi for the Bat Literature Project) Stained films of heart blood of 37 specimens of flying squirrels in the Ivory Coast were examined for malaria parasites. Two new species were found in blood films from Anomalurus peli. The name Plasmodium landauae sp. nov. is proposed for one, and Plasmodium pulmophilum sp. nov. for the other. Differences between the new parasites and P. anomaluri Pringle, 1960 of A. derbianus in Tanzania are discussed.
