- <p><b><i>Bolbitis serratifolia</i> (Mert. ex Kaulf.) Schott, Gen. Fil. t. 13. 1835.</b></p><p><b>Range:</b> —Southern Mexico to northwestern Argentina, Paraguay, and southern Brazil. In Bolivia, known from BE, CH, CO, LP, SC, and TA.</p><p><b>Ecology:</b> —Common; terrestrial or low-climbing on tree trunks, in humid and semihumid forests; often most plants are sterile at a given site; to 1600 m.</p><p><b>Notes:</b> —Very variable with respect to number of pinnae, shape of the terminal blade segments, and venation.</p>
