  • <p><b><i>Cheilanthes poeppigiana</i> Mett. ex Kuhn, Linnaea 36: 84. 1869.</b></p><p><b>Range:</b> — Ecuador to Bolivia (CH, CO, TA) and Argentina.</p><p><b>Ecology:</b> —Fairly common; saxicolous and terrestrial on cliffs, rocky and shrubby slopes, old stone walls; 1900– 3300 m (down to 150 m in coastal Peru).</p><p><b>Notes:</b> —Segments acute, lanceolate; sori continuous along the segment margins. Reminiscent of a tiny <i>Pteris</i>, and quite unlike any other Bolivian <i>Cheilanthes</i>.</p>
