- <div> <div> <div> <div> <div><span>Purpose: The purpose of this article is to investigate the level of uniformity in the description of manuscripts in Islamic manuscript databases from the three perspectives of cataloging, the uniformity of titles, subjects and names of authors and scribes, as well as metadata standards. </span></div> <div><span>Research method/approach: to reach For the aforementioned purpose, the descriptive survey method was used in such a way that at first the databases of Islamic manuscripts were identified and then through correspondence with knowledgeable people in these databases, as well as the review of reports and articles published in the field of the creation and development of the relevant databases. , the information of 17 databases of Islamic manuscripts was collected in the field of description of sources. </span></div> <div><span>Findings of the research: The findings of the research show that the investigated databases have used Anglo-American and AMREMM standards in the indexing section, and TIA standard in the metadata standard section. In the context of using standard sources for the uniformity of topics, and the names of authors and scribes, scattered sources have been used. </span></div> <div><span>Conclusion: In the field of describing manuscripts in the databases of Islamic manuscripts, there is uniformity in the presentation of the contents of the manuscripts and also the use of standards. The bibliographic description is at a very low level and therefore we need more attention and attention to this part.</span></div> </div> </div> </div> </div>
