- <p>At the request of the management of the Museo Histórico Sarmiento (onwards MHS), during the year 2022, we went to this establishment to evaluate a collection of 41 artifacts colloquially known within the museum as ‘Sarmiento's non-lances’ (inventory 177/41 MHS). This evaluation was aimed at trying to determine the origin of the artifacts and/or the raw material involved in their manufacture. About this, the museum is aware that the collection is of doubtful provenance but that it certainly belonged to former president Domingo Faustino Sarmiento (1811-1888). Therefore, this note will present the results of the macroscopic and microscopic analyses carried out on the 177/41 MHS inventory to give a plausible interpretation that will serve as a script for the future exhibition of the collection in the museum.</p>
