Welles & Gregg 1971: 44.</p><p>MATERIAL. — CM Zfr 33, a sacral centrum.</p><p>LOCALITY AND HORIZON. <i>—</i> Waipara River, South Island, New Zealand. Conway Formation, Maastrichtian (Wilson <i>et al.</i> 2005; Fig. 1).</p><p>REMARKS</p><p>This specimen was regarded as a paralectotype of “ <i>Plesiosaurus holmesi</i> ” Hector, 1874 (<i>nomen dubium</i>), and considered as an indeterminate polycotylid byWelles & Gregg (1971). The sacral features of the specimen preclude a referral to polycotylids or elasmosaurids. Therefore, it is here considered as an indeterminate plesiosaurian.</p>
