- <p><b><i>Tropicophyllum gurupi</i> sp. nov.</b></p><p>Figures 193–196</p><p><b>Diagnosis.</b> Vein MA with four main branches reaching wing margin (Fig. 194). Tegmina with five large asymmetric hyaline bands; hyaline bands without spots; cell MP–CuA narrow (Fig. 194). Mesobasisternum triangular, anteriorly concave; lateral lobes anterolaterally convex, laterally straight, posteriorly convex, forming a posterolateral blunt tip (Fig. 193E). Metabasisternum triangular, anteriorly concave; lateral lobes anterolaterally convex, laterally straight, posteriorly convex, posterolaterally forming an angle of 90° (Fig. 193E).</p><p><b>Description. Holotype Male.</b></p><p><i>Thorax</i>. Mesobasisternum triangular, anteriorly concave; lateral lobes anterolaterally convex, laterally straight, posteriorly convex, forming a posterolateral blunt tip (Fig. 193E). Metabasisternum triangular, anteriorly concave; lateral lobes anterolaterally convex, laterally straight, posteriorly convex, posterolaterally forming an angle of 90° (Fig. 193E).</p><p><i>Wings.</i> Vein MA with four main branches reaching wing margin (Fig. 194). Tegmina with five large asymmetric hyaline bands; hyaline bands without spots; cell MP-CuA narrow (Fig. 194). Left stridulatory file slightly curved; basal and apical teeth smaller (Fig. 195A). Total file length of 2.7 mm, greater vein width of 0.4 mm and a total of 54 teeth. Rigth stridulatory file damaged with total of 50 teeth (Fig. 195B).</p><p><i>Legs</i>. All femora ventrally with several small spines (Figs. 193F–H).</p><p><i>Abdomen</i>. Cercus curved inwards, with the apex not expanded (Figs. 193I–K). Apex of cercus with small curved convex projection with a dark brown color (Fig. 193K). Stylus fusiform (Fig. 193I). Apex of stylus exceeding half of cercus length, in ventral view (Fig. 193I).</p><p><i>Internal male genitalia.</i> Not examined.</p><p><i>Coloration</i>. Based on photos of preserved specimen (Fig. 193). Body and tegmina yellowish green. Eyes light brown. Dorso-lateral suture large and black.</p><p>Female: Unknown.</p><p><b>Etymology.</b> The epithet is in apposition, <i>gurupi</i> comes from the Brazilian indigenous language Tupi and means “pure diamond”, in reference to the typical locality of this species, the Gurupi Biological Reserve.</p><p><b>Distribution.</b> Brazil: Maranhão (Fig. 196).</p><p><b>Type material.</b> Holotype ♂. BRASIL, <i>Maranhão</i>, Bom Jardim, REBIO – Reserva Biológica Gurupi, armadilha luminosa base / 02–11.ix.2010, F. Limeira-de-Oliveira, J.C. Silva, J.A. Silva & M.M. Abreu <i>leg</i>. (CZMA).</p><p><b>Measurements (mm).</b> Holotype (♂): TL: 20; TegL: 32,9; TegH: 10,3; WF: 3,1; PL: 5,3; PH: 4,4; FF: 4,5; FT: 6,8; MF: 6,9; MT: 8; HF: 16; HT: 15,6; Lplac: 3,3; LC: 2,9.</p>
