-
This study evaluates the mechanical properties of flax-based hybrid epoxy composites reinforced with pineapple leaf fiber (PALF) at varying fiber weight fractions. Composites were fabricated using the hand lay-up method with configurations of 2FP, 3FP, and 4FP layers. Mechanical tests such as tensile, flexural, impact, and interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) were conducted. Characterization using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) provided insights into structural integrity and chemical interactions. Results indicated significant improvements in mechanical properties with increased fiber content, demonstrating the potential of these composites for lightweight and sustainable engineering applications.
