Sabah, Ranau District, road from Lohan to Mamut Copper mine near Tank 47, 1100 m, 9 vii 1984, <i>Beaman</i> 10656 (holotype E [E00259929]; isotypes L [L.2826371], US [US 00081069]).</p><p><i>Distribution</i>. Brunei (Burtt, 1997); Sabah, Sarawak (Hilliard <i>et al.</i>, 2003).</p><p><i>Notes</i>. Specimens previously cited as being <i>Cyrtandra sarawakensis</i> in Beaman <i>et al.</i> (2001) are now considered <i>C. coacta</i>. Some specimens from Brunei cited as being <i>Cyrtandra sarawakensis</i> in Burtt (1997) have subsequently been identified as <i>C. coacta</i> by Hilliard in the herbarium in E but are not listed in her account of sect. <i>Pleuroschisma</i> (Hilliard <i>et al.</i>, 2003), so the presence of this species in Brunei needs to be confirmed.</p>
