- <div> <p><em><span>Acne is a common skin condition characterized by the occurrence of comedones (blackheads and whiteheads), papules, pustules, and cysts on the face, neck, chest, and back. It is a chronic inflammatory disease of the pilosebaceous unit, which consists of a hair follicle, sebaceous gland, and arrector pili muscle.</span></em></p> <p><em><span>Although acne does not pose serious threat to general health, it is one of the most socially distressing conditions especially for adolescents.</span></em></p> <p><em><span>In the present study, poly herbal anti acne cream was prepared using extracts of the Leaves of Lagenaria siceraria, Portulaca quadrifida and Momordica charantia along with base materials.</span></em></p> <p><em><span>Two formulations of the cream were prepared by varying the proportions and evaluated for their physicochemical property like pH, spreadability, viscosity, homogeneity, appearance, after feel and spreadability like tests. Among the 2 formulations (F1 & F2) the formulations F2 shows better results in evaluation.
