- The study questions the relationship between science – by definition, the domain of generality – and consciousness – synonymous with singularity. More specifically, he questions the equality of cogito and sum in the famous Cartesian sentence cogito ergo sum. Strange thing, however, Descartes' vision of the possibility of a mathesis universalis appears to him in the novel form of three famous successive dreams. They speak to us, albeit indirectly, about a hyperbolic doubt - dubito, which shakes the foundation of any experiment and any formal thought. Given that the verbs composing the adage are conjugated in the first person singular, we are invited to redefine the tension between singularity - identity - and generality - identification -, as it has been analyzed by contemporary philosophy and science.
