The subject “Foreign Language” offers significant potential to enhance communication skills and build a strong foundation for linguistic adaptability. Achieving this requires the development of compensatory competence, which enables learners to overcome communication challenges and effectively utilize linguistic resources. This article examines the use of authentic materials in fostering compensatory competence among primary school learners. Authentic materials, including texts, audio recordings, and visual aids derived from real-world contexts, provide learners with meaningful exposure to language and help improve their communication strategies.
