  • <p><em><span>This article focuses on the current problems of forming an effective motivation system in the hotel industry. The growth of this industry in 2023-2024 was nevertheless marked by problems with the search and recruitment of qualified personnel, with staff turnover in hotels, and with reduced motivation of hotel staff at various levels. And this problem is noted in hotels of different stars and locations in our country. The analysis was conducted by interviewing hotel staff. The results of the study, conducted on the basis of a survey of Rostov hotel staff, relate to the reasons for the decrease in motivation. This study was performed at various times during 2023-2024, that is, during the period of growth after the pandemic restrictions. It was conducted in two directions: on the one hand, the opinion of the line staff was studied, on the other, the opinion of middle and senior managers. Modern conditions show us that this issue is now relevant for all commercial organizations, requiring special attention and productive solutions. This is especially true for the service sector, which includes the hotel business.</span></em></p>
