Narrow range Balkan endemism (known only from the type locality).</p><p><b>Remarks.</b> Šapkarev (1983) published and described this taxon as <i>Dendrobaena</i> sp., however, he subjected the naming to a condition: “if further studies prove that this is a new species, then it should be named as <i>sasensis</i> ”, thus this name remained not available. Mršić (1991) was the first, who publish the description of this taxon under the name <i>Dendrobaena sasensis</i> Šapkarev, 1983, which made the name available, although he attributed the description entirely to Šapkarev (1983).</p>
