  • <p>Women empowerment in tribal communities of India is an essential aspect of achieving social justice and inclusive development. Despite the rich cultural heritage of India’s tribal populations, women within these communities face significant challenges due to systemic gender inequalities, patriarchal norms, and socio-economic marginalization. This study explores the multifaceted dimensions of women’s empowerment in tribal communities, focusing on education, economic participation, healthcare access, and political representation. The research investigates the barriers tribal women face, such as restricted authority to academic and well being, social stigma, and restricted economic opportunities. For qualitative interviews, purposively select women who are part of empowerment programs, such as SHGs or training programs, and those who are not, to assess the differences in outcomes The research shows that during significant strides have been made in surroundings such as academic & well being and healthcare, tribal women continue to face challenges in gaining full autonomy and equality. Cultural practices, geographical isolation, and insufficient infrastructure remain major obstacles. However, programs that provide financial independence, enhance community participation, and promote gender-sensitive policies have shown positive outcomes, especially in enhancing tribal women’s agency. The study concludes that empowering tribal women requires a holistic approach, addressing not only economic and educational needs but also dismantling cultural and societal barriers. To achieve long-term empowerment, it is crucial to promote sustainable community-driven initiatives, strengthen legal protections, and ensure better access to resources and services for tribal women. The research emphasizes the importance of collaborative efforts between the government, NGOs, and local communities to foster a more inclusive and equitable society for tribal women in India.
