-
Climate change is one of the most pressing global crises of the 21st century, threatening ecosystems,
livelihoods and future generations. Within the Christian tradition, eco-theology has emerged as a response to
this challenge, emphasizing the role of theology in addressing environmental degradation. Previous discourse
on climate change has evolved over the decades which encompass scientific, political, media advocacy,
social and ethical perspectives. This paper explores the theological implications of climate change through
the lens of eco-theology, rooted in a biblical understanding of creation as a gift from God (Genesis 1:26–28;
Psalm 24:1 and 1 Corinthians 10:26). Utilizing the Theological Anthropology framework, it examines
humanity's role as stewards of creation, highlighting the interconnectedness between God, humans, and the
environment.
