  • <p><strong>SIS Technical Committee on a standard for food composition data</strong><br><strong>Update on work during Jan-June 2008</strong><br><strong>Prepared by Wulf Becker, NFA (partner 29)</strong><br>The SIS Technical Committee on food data (TK505) has met three times during spring 2008. These meetings have focussed on the preparation of a proposal for a new CEN project on food composition data. Drafts have been circulated to committee members and their organisations for comments. In addition, ad hoc meetings have been held in which drafts were discussed and modified based on comments received. A comparison of LanguaL codes with codes for attributes/properties used in the GS1 Food & Beverage extension (see below) identified a number inconsistencies and gaps. A list of suggested changes to LanguaL facets was submitted to the LanguaL website and has now been accepted (<a href="http://www.langual.org/proposals.asp" target="_new" rel="noopener">http://www.langual.org/proposals.asp</a>).</p>
