contents Pultruded glass fiber-reinforced polymeric matrix composite (PMC) materials can be considered for applications such as crash rails because of their low cost, high processibility, high strength, and good chemical resistance properties. However, the impact behavior of PMC materials will be affected due to changes of temperature. Therefore, the focus of this investigation is to study the effect of temperature on the impact fracture behavior of pultruded glass fiber-reinforced poly(vinylester) composite. In this study, drop weight impact test was carried out at the temperature ranging from -40C to 140C. The specimens tested at temperatures below Tg showed clear mid-plane shear fractures. The shear fractured surfaces were examined by scanning electron microscope (SEM).
