This work provides the first record of <i>O. guttatus</i> in the waters of Mauritius. Ward (1942) cited this species, but as a subspecies <i>Ozius guttatus garciaensis</i> Ward, 1942, in the Chagos Islands (Diego García), a territory claimed by Mauritius and close to it.</p><p>For identification see also Ward (1942) and Serène (1984).</p>
