Resurrected to subgeneric status (in <i>Trogaspidia</i> Ashmead, 1899) by Hammer, 1955: 400. Junior subjective synonym of <i>Timulla</i> Ashmead, 1899 according to Brothers, 1975: 592. Resurrected to generic status by Nonveiller, 1975: 174, 1980a: 67. Valid generic name.</p><p><b>Sex association.</b> The male of the type species was associated and identified (as <i>Mutilla opaca</i> Lepeletier, 1845: 624) by André, 1902: 22; its identity was clarified and it was redescribed by Nonveiller, 1999: 269.</p><p><b>Distribution.</b> Afrotropical, Palaearctic.</p>
