- <p>Political discourses serve as an instrument for politicians and / or political organizations to pursue and execute power. To exert positive and persuasive effects on the listeners, political speakers frequently opt to using metaphors. This article investigates the use of conceptual metaphors in political discourses made in English language and attempts to present the used types of conceptual metaphors and the commonly used conceptual metaphors in the real political life.</p>
