NHMO.</p><p><b>Biology:</b> The yellow to orange-red larvae develop gregariously in galled leaves of <i>Alnus</i> spp. (Betulaceae). Our records are from <i>A. incana</i>. The larvae attack the bursting leaves, which then do not unfold properly and develop a small pouch at the base, in which the larvae live. Univoltine; pupation and hibernation in the soil.</p><p><b>Distribution:</b> Widespread in Europe including Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.</p>
