- <p><em><span>The advent of 5G lays a significant milestone on the road to global industrial change, fundamentally changing how companies will function and innovate. 5G is so much more than another speed enhancement. 5G's key capabilities are based on ultra-low latency for near real-time communication that is crucial in areas like remote surgical procedures and autonomous vehicles; vast bandwidth for moving enormous datasets for AI and Analytics with little to no disruption; and massive connectivity of an unprecedented number of connected devices that is critical for the Internet of Things (IoT). These operational capabilities will have a transformative effect across numerous industries. For example, 5G will drive smart factories and robots in manufacturing industries that will completely reshape technological change with automated processes and predictive maintenance; tele-medicine and remote diagnostics will reshape the healthcare industry; the automotive industry will launch fully autonomous vehicles that will communicate with each other and infrastructure; real time tracking will transform logistics and allow for intelligent fleet management; and the industry will be transformed with massively immersive virtual and augmented reality experiences and cloud gaming. </span></em></p> <p><em><span><span> </span>With all of this opportunity that 5G will deliver, there are still obstacles to overcome and disruptions to endure like the rollout of technology and related infrastructure, cyber security, and also new forms of business models. Despite these hurdles through insight, businesses that will best manage these challenges when they adopt 5G will have an unmatched competitive advantage in the long run with new operational efficiencies, innovation like never before, and a clear path towards an eventual radical business transformation in their journey.</span></em></p>
