- <p><span>Design in of itself addresses culture and different aspects of it through the use of different media. However, research and writing about those aspects of culture are considered challenging across different design disciplines due to limited familiarity about their potential and possibilities, in addition to inexperience, and considerations about its usefulness to design processes and outcomes. This paper focuses on highlighting the importance of multicultural research and writing in design, and takes a closer look at the different approaches and methods that may be utilized toward improving multicultural design research and writing within higher education. The paper also recommends familiarizing design professionals with research that stems from cultural practices to more effectively connect visual and written communication.</span></p>
