By delving into the characteristics and roles of these archetypes within the poem's context, the paper seeks to uncover their significance and portrayal in medieval literature. The paper aims to illuminate the timeless appeal and enduring relevance of these archetypal characters, engaging the reader through a close analysis of key scenes and interactions involving the Damsel in Distress and the heroic figure of Digenes Akrites.
