This species resembles C. priscilae sp. nov. in the morphology of the head, scutellun, mesopectus, metapleural-propodeal complex and wings. But is easily separated from this species by the antenna of female with F2 to F4 small and subcircular (F2 and F3 small, subcircular in C. priscilae sp. nov.), antennal club consisting of seven flagellomeres (antennal club consisting of eight flagellomeres in C. prisciliae sp. nov.); medial bridge of pronotal plate broad (medial bridge of pronotal plate narrow in C. priscilae sp. nov.), dorsal margin of pronotal plate scarcely emarginated (dorsal margin of pronotal plate straight in C. priscilae sp. nov.); the dorsal surface of scutellum reticulate-rugose (dorsal surface of scutellum punctate-rugose in C. priscilae sp. nov.) and syntergum with micropunctures distally (syntergum without micropunctures distally in C. priscilae sp. nov.), among other characters listed below.

Redescription. Male. Body length 1.20-1.40 mm. Color. Head, mesosoma and metasoma reddish brown (similar to Fig. 1a). Head. Antennae filiform, 15 segments; F1 scarcely shorter than F2, curved and flattened internally; F2-F13 subequal in length, gradually elongated towards the apex; all flagellomeres with multiporous plate sensillum (Figs. 1 a-b). Pronotum. Pronotal plate small. Medial bridge of pronotal plate broad (Fig. 3a). Dorsal margin of pronotal plate scarcely emarginated. Sides of pronotum with setae behind gena. Mesoscutellum. Dorsal surface of scutellum reticulate-rugose (Fig. 1c, arrow). Metapleutal-propodeal complex. (Fig. 1d) Posterior margin of metapleura depressed in middle portion (Fig. 1d, arrow), without carina. Wings. Apical margin of forewings slightly truncate (Fig. 1a). Legs. Fore and mid coxa with patch of setae dorsolateral, hind coxa with posterodorsal patch of setae (Fig. 1a). Metasoma. Base of syntergum with hairy ring incomplete dorsally, distally without micropunctures.

Female. (Fig. 1a). Similar to male, except for the following characters: Body length in female 1.40-1.60 mm. Antenna (Fig. 1b) with F1 as long as F2 and F3 together; F2, F3 and F4 small, subcircular; F5-F11 subequal in length, antennal club consisting of seven flagellomeres. Base of syntergum with hairy ring complete dorsally with micropunctures.

Biology. Reared from Sarcophagula sp. (Diptera: Sarcophagidae), collected on bovine dung (Díaz et al., 2000). Associated with bovine droppings, although the specific host fly was not recorded (Marchiori & Linhares, 1999).

Distribution. Brazil. Pará (Kieffer, 1909), Mato Grosso (Nordlander, 1982a), São Paulo (Díaz & Gallardo, 1996), Goiás (Díaz et al., 2000) and Paraná (new record). Argentina (new record), Tucumán.

Type material. Brazil. Pará. Lectotype 1 male, (CAS type Nº 10508), Beker coll. Only represented by two legs and one forewing and one hindwing.

Additional material. BRAZIL. SAO PAULO. Campinas. 1 male, 1987, Almeida coll. PARANÁ. State Park “ Mata São Francisco ”. 2 females, near to the stream margin, 22-II-2010, pitfall trap, N.G. Cipola coll. ARGENTINA.
