- <p>This permaculture note offers a permacultural approach to rural solid waste management. The word TERRA is proposed as a guide for waste management, with each letter indicating actions involving its transformation, disposal, rejection, rethinking, recycling, and reuse. A traffic light is proposed in the figures, where green highlights the importance of considering waste as a resource, emphasizing the need to utilize it locally as much as possible. Yellow, on the other hand, highlights the need to rethink the consumption of raw materials that will need to be recycled or transformed externally at the community level. Finally, red highlights the need to reject/rethink the consumption of "goods" whose reuse cycle as raw materials is excessively long and involves pollution and high energy consumption.</p>
