The main issue in cultivation is manual watering,
which can potentially cause under or over-watering. This
research designs an IoT-based watering control system using
an ESP8266 microcontroller, a soil moisture sensor, and a relay
module to control the water pump. The device was tested by
comparing soil moisture levels before and after the system
operated. The results show the system can detect moisture
with an average accuracy of 90% and automatically activate
the pump when the moisture value is <40%. This system
improves water use efficiency and facilitates easier
independent plant care.
Keywords: Internet of Things, ESP8266, soil moisture sensor,
automatic watering, Blynk.
