•
This article explores the intersection of Sufi traditions, Partition history, and the lived experiences of the Issar family as a lens for understanding pluralism in South Asia. Drawing on personal narratives, it highlights how Sufi practices—such as langar, sama, and the poetry of Bulleh Shah—nurtured interfaith coexistence across Hindu, Muslim, and Sikh communities in pre-Partition Lahore. Case studies of Malerkotla and border shrines illustrate how Sufi ethos resisted communal violence, even as Partition fractured centuries of syncretic culture. The Issar family’s stories embody this pluralistic legacy, revealing resilience through interfaith solidarity and adaptive traditions. The article then extends Sufi values—muhasabah (self-reflection), fana (selflessness), khidmat (service), and ishq (love)—to contemporary startups and organizations, proposing a framework for ethical innovation and inclusive leadership. By linking memory, spirituality, and business, it argues that Sufi-inspired principles remain vital resources for addressing modern challenges of polarization, inequality, and sustainability.
