  • <p><strong><span> </span></strong></p> <p>The “Crisis Plus One” theory provides a novel framework for analyzing Iran’s underdevelopment. Rooted in the Constitutional Trauma<a title="" href="#_ftn1" name="_ftnref1"><sup><span><span>[1]</span></span></sup></a> of the 1906 revolution and contemporary manifestations like rent-seeking institutions,the theory advocates strengthening independent civil society. Its analytical lens extends to developing nations grappling with similar systemic inefficiencies, offering insights for global development studies. It posits that structural crises, when compounded by an intensifying factor such as the " washing concept ", lead to what is termed "accelerated negative development." Through a historical examination of the failure to institutionalize modern institutions during the <a name="_Hlk200954494"></a>Constitutional Revolution and contemporary examples such as rent-seeking institutions, the theory identifies the roots of recurring inefficiency and proposes the empowerment of an independent civil society as a path to break this cycle.
