In the Philippines, these challenges are intensified by limited access to therapy, high costs, and minimal government support, placing the burden on parents who must act as teachers and caregivers without formal training. This qualitative phenomenological study explored the lived experiences of eight Filipino parents of children with ASD aged 5–9 years. Using semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis, the study identified three major themes: establishing structure and routines, relying on informal monitoring, and coping with emotional fatigue. Parents faced emotional, environmental, and behavioral challenges but showed adaptability through strategies like routine integration, positive reinforcement, and visual modeling. The study proposed a home-based intervention plan emphasizing family involvement, parent training, financial and emotional support, and progress monitoring tools.
