-
This preprint, titled “The Impact of Childhood Trauma on the Development of Gambling Behaviors in Young Adults,” explores how early trauma influences neurodevelopment, emotional regulation, and decision-making that contribute to gambling in young adults. Integrating findings from psychology, neuroscience, and social work, the paper identifies trauma-related mechanisms—such as impaired impulse control, dissociation, and multigenerational transmission—that heighten vulnerability to addictive behaviors. The study highlights the need for trauma-informed prevention and early intervention strategies. This work has been submitted for review in the Curieux Academic Journal
