-
The current study evaluated the topical potential of Nanofibrous, which is a combination of gelatin, chitosan, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), mupirocin, and leaf extract from Aegle marmelos that has been fabricated for increased wound healing applications. Numerous methods were used to characterize the formulation: FTIR, SEM, XRD, contact angle measurement, phytochemical screening of the herbal extract, calibration curve analysis for API, antimicrobial testing, & cell line studies. The nanofibers' consistent shape and sizes in the nanometer range(2µm, 1µm) were shown by SEM. The 66.7% amorphous nature of the nanofibers was revealed by XRD analysis, and the effective integration of the herbal extract and API was verified by FTIR. Measurements of contact angles for nanofibers which has 34.25o Left angle and 36.50o Right angle revealed good hydrophilicity, which is important for applications involving wound dressings. Invitro drug release profile of formulated nanofiber has the 97% of release over the period of 8 hr. Antimicrobial assays demonstrated effective inhibition against tested pathogens, while cell line studies exhibited biocompatibility and potential for promoting cell proliferation. These findings highlight the promising potential of the developed nanofibers as advanced wound healing scaffolds combining antimicrobial properties with bioactive herbal components.
