  • <p><span lang="EN-US">This study investigates the intrinsic relationship between urban image and tourists' travel intention, along with its underlying mechanisms. Through systematic analysis of theoretical frameworks and empirical research, we reveal how urban image, as a multidimensional construct, significantly influences tourism decision-making, while identifying key moderating factors in this relationship. The findings demonstrate that urban image exerts both direct and indirect effects on travel intention through emotional response and cognitive evaluation mediation, with this process being jointly moderated by individual characteristics and external environmental factors. Building on these insights, the paper proposes targeted urban image optimization strategies and management recommendations, providing theoretical foundations and practical guidance for urban tourism marketing and planning.</span></p>
