- <p><b><i>Dectobrycon</i> Zarske & Géry, 2006</b></p><p><i>Dectobrycon armeniacus</i> Zarske & Géry shares some dentition features and the presence of an interrupted lateral line with <i>Hollandichthys</i> and <i>Pseudochalceus</i> (<i>Pseudochalceus</i> clade) and the presence of scales covering most of the length of the anal-fin with <i>Markiana</i> (<i>Astyanax</i> clade) (Zarske & Géry, 2006). The available data would indicate a higher affinity of this genus with <i>Hollandichthys</i> and <i>Pseudochalceus</i>, but it is preferable herein to leave this genus provisionally as <i>incertae sedis</i> within the Characidae.</p>
