  • <p><b><i>Alburnus baliki</i></b></p><p><b>Common name.</b> Antalya spotted bleak.</p><p><b>Diagnosis.</b> Distinguished from other species of <i>Alburnus</i> in Mediterranean basin by: ● pelvic axillary scales absent / ● scales on back, flank, and belly reduced, often not overlapping, absent on belly in front of pelvic base <i>/</i> ● nuptial male bright yellow / ○ faint grey mottling on flank including only few scales in most individuals <i>/</i> ○ 11–13 gill rakers / ○ 12–14½ branched anal rays / ○ 47–61 total lateral line scales / ○ ventral keel fully exposed or covered by few scales on its anterior part / ○ no dark-brown mid-lateral stripe. Size up to 60 mm SL.</p><p><b>Distribution.</b> Türkiye: Aksu east to Karpuz drainages.</p><p><b>Habitat.</b> Slow-flowing sections of streams and rivers, often with submerged vegetation.</p><p><b>Biology.</b> No data.</p><p><b>Conservation status.</b> VU; found in less than 10, mostly declining populations.</p><p><b>Further reading.</b> Bogutskaya et al. 2000 (description).</p>
