  • This paper moves beyond traditional hydropolitical analyses to explore the lived experiences and adaptive strategies of communities directly affected by water conflicts in the Nile, Jordan, and Mekong River basins. By employing a comparative framework, we examine how local populations perceive, respond to, and navigate the challenges posed by water scarcity, unequal distribution, and transboundary water management. We analyze the socio-economic, cultural, and environmental dimensions of water conflicts, highlighting the diverse ways in which communities are developing resilience and innovating solutions. The study aims to contribute to a more nuanced understanding of water governance, emphasizing the importance of incorporating local knowledge and perspectives into sustainable water management policies. Our findings underscore the need for collaborative, inclusive, and equitable approaches that prioritize the well-being of vulnerable populations and promote long-term ecological sustainability across these critical river basins.
