contents
This study aims to map and analyze the structure of the Arabic language curriculum at MAS Al-Hamidiyah Cipancur, a traditional pesantren-based Islamic senior high school located in Cipancur, Sirnasari Village, Sariwangi District, Tasikmalaya Regency. The analysis focuses on the curriculum model, learning objectives, content, instructional methodology, and assessment practices implemented by teachers. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews with the Vice Principal for Curriculum Affairs, observations, and document analysis. Data were analyzed through the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the school implements a combinative curriculum integrating the national standards of KMA 183/184 with the traditional salaf pesantren curriculum, emphasizing mastery of classical texts (kitab kuning) alongside basic language skills. The learning content combines government-issued textbooks with turats materials, yet requires careful mapping to avoid redundancy. Instructional practices remain dominated by traditional methods such as lectures, qirā’ah, and syarh, while communicative approaches are applied only to a limited extent. Assessment practices primarily measure receptive skills, whereas productive skills are not yet systematically accommodated. This study recommends the development of an integrated curriculum document, balanced development of receptive and productive competencies, clearer mapping of learning materials, broader implementation of communicative methods, and updated assessments based on language performance.
