-
One of the key priorities of contemporary higher art education is the development of students’ creative thinking
within the modern system of music education. In the educational process, the guzheng, as an important bearer of ancient
Chinese musical culture, contributes not only to the formation of students’ performance skills but also to the development
of their creative imagination, aesthetic sensitivity, and inventive abilities.
This article examines effective pedagogical methods for fostering students’ creative thinking in the process of teaching
guzheng performance at higher education institutions. The study is grounded in the concept of creative development
in art education and analyzes learning objectives, the organization of the educational process, and patterns of interaction
between teachers and students. The integration of heuristic learning, improvisation, interdisciplinary approaches,
and reflective methodologies into instructional practice is shown to encourage independent thinking and individualized
musical self-expression.
The findings of the study demonstrate that the development of creative thinking not only enhances students’ expressive
performance abilities but also stimulates a conscious motivation for artistic exploration. The results obtained have practical
significance for improving guzheng teaching methodologies in academic institutions and for advancing contemporary
music education.
