•
Use Case 4 demonstrates an infrastructure-based application that assists CAVs at urban intersections while protecting VRUs. Deployed in Turin, the system fuses trusted data from multiple sources, including roadside sensors, vehicle sensors, VRU smartphone app, C-ITS infrastructure, and traffic lights through a digital twin. It then provides guidance to the CAVs and connected VRUs to safely go across a busy urban intersection. The Use Case demonstrates that the digital infrastructure can provide the necessary information to road users to improve safety at intersections. This necessary information is not only trustworthy, thanks to the protection of nodes against integrity attacks, but also true, given the redundancy of data sources as many sensors are available, such as vehicle sensors, RSU sensors, VRU app published data, etc, the resulting data is more reliable than single-source data.
