-
As entrepreneurship has been identified as a promising avenue for empowering persons with disabilities (PWDs), this study investigates the entrepreneurial intention (EI) of PWDs in Kerala. The study also explores the influence of gender and prior entrepreneurial experience on their EI. Employing a cross-sectional research design, the primary data were collected from a sample of 120 PWDs in Kerala using a questionnaire, and the data were analysed by employing descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, and regression analysis using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings revealed a strong positive intention towards entrepreneurship among the respondents. Furthermore, the study uncovers that gender does not significantly affect EI, and a weak, negative insignificant relation exists between prior entrepreneurial experience and EI among them. The insights from the study hold valuable implications for policymakers, supporting organizations, and government authorities. They can design initiatives and programmes to support and amplify the EI among PWDs. The development of an inclusive and supportive entrepreneurial ecosystem enhances their lives.
