-
This release extends the Gaussian puff formulation used in DAD-drift and improves computational performance.

The primary motivation for this development was to address symmetric Gaussian behavior that may result in non-zero upwind deposition under certain conditions. To this end, a skewing term in the downwind direction has been implemented.

As part of this development, the Gaussian puff model was further extended to a fully shear-resolved formulation using multiple vertical slices. This required a revised treatment of the wind profile representation within the model.

In addition, the numerical treatment of spray drift deposition was refined by replacing point-based sampling at fixed coordinates with an integration over grid cells in the horizontal plane. This reduces numerical sensitivity to sampling intervals and improves the robustness of deposition estimates.

Several algorithmic optimizations were also implemented, resulting in substantially reduced computation times compared to v1.0.
