contents
This paper presents The Hidden Axis Theory, a structural and interpretive framework for quantum field theory in which effective four-dimensional dynamics arise from fields defined on a space with an internal degree of freedom. The internal coordinate is not treated as an additional spacetime dimension and does not contribute to spacetime geometry, causal structure, or localization. Instead, it represents internal structure intrinsic to quantum fields.

The framework is formulated by defining fields on a fibered space with observed spacetime as the base manifold and introducing a self-adjoint operator acting on the internal coordinate. Spectral decomposition of this operator yields a family of effective four-dimensional fields whose parameters are determined by the internal spectrum. Discrete particle-like modes arise when the internal operator admits discrete spectral components, while continuous spectra lead to families of effective modes.

The formalism preserves standard spacetime locality, relativistic dynamics, and symmetry principles. Quantization proceeds through conventional methods applied to the effective four-dimensional fields. No new interactions, forces, or experimentally testable predictions are introduced at the present level of development. The contribution of the framework is interpretive, providing a mathematically consistent account of how familiar quantum field structures can emerge from internal spectral properties rather than being imposed as independent postulates.
