•
How can YAWL be configured to use PostgreSQL instead of the default H2 database?
This video explains how to replace YAWL’s default H2 database with PostgreSQL and connect the workflow engine to an external relational database.

The tutorial walks through the complete setup process, including installing PostgreSQL, creating database users and schemas, and preparing a sample data table. It then demonstrates how to install the required JDBC driver and configure YAWL by adapting the hibernate.properties file so that the engine connects to PostgreSQL at runtime.

By moving from an embedded database to PostgreSQL, the video highlights how YAWL can be integrated into more realistic production environments, supporting persistence, scalability, and integration with existing IT infrastructures.

This tutorial is part of the playlist “Learn how to automate business processes with YAWL (ADVANCED)”:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4BZgFsmRzfQ9QpXfqLC7uBTMS12C5MQR

Supplementary material, including configuration files and examples used in this tutorial, is available on GitHub:
https://github.com/ahense/YAWL
(Download via “Code” → “Download ZIP”. The material is located in the folder corresponding to the tutorial number.)

This is video #27 of the YAWLSeries.
