He, sp. nov. (Fig. 2)

MycoBank no.—MB857455.

Type:— CHINA, Yunnan Province, Pingbian County, Daweishan Forest Park, on dead bamboo, 12 November 2019, S.H. He, He 6211 (BJFC 033156, holotype).

Etymology:— “ bambusicola ” refers to the species growing on bamboo.

Fruiting body:— Basidiomata annual, resupinate, effused, closely adnate, inseparable from the substrate, membranaceous, first as small patches, later confluent up to 16 cm long, 2.5 cm wide, and 140 µm thick in section. Hymenophore smooth to pulverulent, grayish yellow (4B3–4B4) to grayish orange (5B4), turning black in KOH, uncracked; margin thinning out, adnate, indistinct, white or paler than hymenophore; context white to pale cream.

Microscopic structures:— Hyphal system dimitic; generative hyphae bearing clamp connections. Subiculum thin; generative hyphae colorless, thin- to slightly thick-walled, smooth, interwoven, more or less parallel to the substrate, moderately branched and septate, 2–3 µm in diam.; skeletal-like hyphae abundant, colorless to pale yellow, distinctly thick-walled, smooth, rarely branched, aseptate, 0.5–1 µm in diam. Subhymenium thickening, a dense, often partially agglutinated tissue of hyphae and embedded cystidia; hyphae in this layer similar to those in subiculum. Hymenium composed of a dense palisade of cystidia, hyphidia and basidia. Gloeocystidia of two different shapes: (1) subfusiform, with acute apices, abundant, colorless, thin-walled, with homogeneous contents, embedded or slightly projecting beyond the hymenium, 25–36 × 4–6 µm; (2) clavate to subcylindrical, with a distinct papilla, abundant, colorless, thin-walled, with homogeneous contents, embedded, 26–38 × 4–7 µm. Hyphidia colorless, thin-walled, with few protrusions, sparsely branched, 1–2 µm in diam. Basidia subclavate to subcylindrical, colorless, thin-walled, smooth, with four sterigmata and a basal clamp connection, 25–30 × 5–6 µm. Basidiospores subfusiform to subcylindrical, with an apiculus, colorless, thin-walled, smooth, often two to four in groups, IKI–, CB –, (7–) 8–10 (–12) × 2.5–3.5 (–4) µm, L= 9.3 µm, W = 3 µm, Q = 3.1–3.2 (n = 60/2).

Additional specimens examined:— CHINA, Hubei Province, Wufeng County, Houhe Nature Reserve, on dead bamboo, 16 August 2017, S.H. He, He 5076 (BJFC 024594); He 5077 (BJFC 024595); He 5080 (BJFC 024598) & He 5083 (BJFC 024601).

Habitat:—So far, found in central and southwestern China on dead bamboo.
