Modern libraries are evolving from traditional repositories of books into technology-driven knowledge hubs that provide intelligent, user-centric services. This paper presents a comprehensive review of existing literature on the role of Artificial Intelligence in library services. The study explores major AI technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, expert systems, and chatbots and examines their applications in various library operations, including cataloguing, reference services, information retrieval, digital libraries, and user engagement. The paper also discusses the benefits of AI adoption in libraries, including improved efficiency, enhanced user satisfaction, and better resource management, as well as challenges such as cost, privacy, ethical concerns, and lack of skilled manpower. The Indian perspective on AI in libraries and its future prospects are also reviewed. The study concludes that while AI has immense potential to revolutionize library services, its successful implementation requires strategic planning, staff training, and supportive institutional policies.</span></em></p> </div>
