The automobile sector, being capital-intensive and technology-oriented, has significantly benefited from foreign investments. Maharashtra, as India’s leading industrial state, attracts a substantial share of automobile-related FDI. This research paper examines the impact of FDI on capital formation in Maharashtra’s automobile sector. Using secondary data from government publications and industry reports, the study analyses trends in FDI inflows, fixed capital formation, and industrial expansion. The findings suggest that FDI has played a positive role in enhancing physical capital, technology adoption, and production capacity in the sector. The paper concludes with policy suggestions to strengthen domestic capital formation through effective utilisation of foreign investment.</span></em></p>
