•
Abstract

Digital transformation has reshaped competitive structures and business

models within Indonesia’s economic platforms, requiring organizations

to develop strategic agility in responding to rapid and uncertain

environmental changes. This study aims to explore the meaning and

practice of strategic agility in the digital transformation process of

Indonesian economic platforms using a phenomenological approach. A

qualitative method was employed, involving in-depth interviews with

platform managers, strategic leaders, and ecosystem actors. Data were

analyzed through phenomenological reduction and thematic coding to

uncover the essence of participants’ lived experiences regarding

strategic adaptation. The findings reveal that strategic agility is

perceived as the organization’s ability to balance long-term strategic

vision with short-term operational flexibility. It manifests in three

primary dimensions: strategic sensitivity to digital market changes,

collaborative adaptive leadership, and technological resource

reconfiguration flexibility. Effective digital transformation within

Indonesian economic platforms is not solely determined by technology

adoption but by embedding strategic agility into organizational culture

and decision-making systems. This study highlights that strategic agility

serves as the fundamental foundation for platform sustainability amid

ongoing digital disruption.

Keywords: Strategic Agility, Digital Transformation, Indonesian

Economic Platform, Phenomenology, Strategic Management
