Its presence on tooth surfaces creates a favorable environment for bacterial accumulation, leading to inflammation of periodontal tissues. This article examines the formation of dental calculus, its impact on periodontal structures, and the clinical consequences associated with its accumulation. The study also discusses preventive and therapeutic strategies aimed at minimizing periodontal damage.
