A decrease in the number of absorptive areas per mm² in the rectum was observed in rats maintained on a diet with 32% fat content. Experimental models showed an enlargement of the intestinal cavity, which leads to the development of obesity. Standard nutrition over a period of 5 weeks (a diet with 14% fat content) showed signs of inflammation developing in the epithelium of the rectal mucosa.

Keywords: breast cancer, rectum, morphology, chemotherapy.
